Beatriz Malnic
is one of the most beautiful and privileged Brazilian voice in America.
She is from São Paulo and lives in Florida for more than a decade. Audiences know her not only for her active agenda at the musical night circuits of Miami, Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale, but also for her role as  musical director of the award winning vocal group “Brazilian Voices”.

In the show "Bossa n' Blues", Beatriz - or just "Bia" - shows her amazing voice trough several classics of Brazilian and American music, and some "pearls" she recreated under an amazing new light.

But for those who still don’t know her, Bia – as her family, friends, colleagues and fans call her – has an impressive résumé as a soloist and has recorded and performed with some of the greatest artists of the MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) as Toquinho, Roberto Menescal and Antônio Adolfo.

J.V. Galindo, the concert’s artistic director, is also responsible for the definition of Bia’s visual identity. Galindo, who successfully directed the project “Singers of Brazil” by Rose Max”, has already worked with Beatriz when he directed the Press Award 2007 where Beatriz highlighted the night with her rendition of the song “Tetê”, composed by the honoree Roberto Menescal.

“Bia is one of those Brazilian talents who must be exposed to the public in a format especially designed for her. I think that both the concert and the CD will astound the audience since it is a sophisticated approach, somewhat different. But with the same voice that many already know and applaud”, said Galindo.

In the three of the most recent performances of Brazilian guitar master, singer/songwriter Toquinho in South Florida – Banco do Brasil’s 200th Anniversary, in April 2009; Tam Party in December 2008; and the concert “Toquinho and Friends” on May 9th 2009 – Beatriz was the special guest who performed with the composer and singer.

“It’s a privilege to perform with Toquinho, one of the best Brazilian musicians and composers, and an artist I admire immensely. These three performances were very special to me”, said Beatriz.

In “Bossa n' Blues”, Beatriz Malnic explores nuances modulation in territories she is very familiar with:  Bossa Nova, Samba, Folk and Blues, in a project that also includes the launching of her second CD – this time with Green Music. The concert and the recording of her first DVD will be on September 17th and 18th at Cinema Paradiso, in Fort Lauderdale. A tour will follow the concert till year end with performances already confirmed in New York, Boston and Atlanta.

“I’m so excited with everything related to this project for what it allows me to do in musical terms and also because of the people involved. It’s totally concentrated on quality and musical creativity”, she said.

The concert’s repertoire at Cinema Paradiso will include all the songs contained in the CD and some other songs that won’t be a part of the CD but will certainly be on the DVD. The music selection includes Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Lennon & McCartney, Vieja Luna – a classic from Celia Cruz – Ângela Ro Ro, Dolores Duran, Jacques Brel, Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento and many other great names. Songs that talk about love, above all, in all senses.

The project’s general director is Carlos Borges, who has been an unconditional fan of Malnic’s voice for a long time.

“Beatriz Malnic is a powerful example of the great MPB we have in the US. Her voice tuning is impressive and her style is extremely personal. Sometimes it is very hard to break her shyness since she is really an artist totally “devoted” to music and has never really focused on her own career and marketing as a performer. I hope this union with Green Music will allow her to show to a larger number of people the mastery of her vocal extension and sensibility”, assured the producer.
